Building a common culture across borders
Building a common culture across borders
As organizations continue to expand their global footprint, collaboration increasingly extends beyond geographical and cultural boundaries. For IT teams, this evolution is not simply about connecting systems and processes. It is about connecting people.
As Equans IT continues to expand its international presence through hubs in Chile, Morocco, Romania, and India, collaboration is becoming more global than ever. Teams are working across countries, cultures, and time zones, creating new opportunities to learn from one another and deliver value together.
To support this evolution, Equans partnered with GapsMoov to help employees develop the intercultural skills needed to thrive in a global environment. Through a combination of leadership workshops, interactive conferences, and digital learning, the initiative aims to strengthen trust, improve communication, and build a shared culture across teams.
Cultural differences have a very concrete impact on the way we work. We don’t all communicate, give feedback, make decisions or negotiate in the same way. Gapsmoov helps teams understand these differences, adapt to each other and turn them into a source of better collaboration and performance.
The program has already generated strong engagement, with 289 employees trained, 768 hours of learning delivered, and an overall satisfaction score of 4.5 out of 5.
More than a training initiative, this effort reflects a broader ambition: creating the conditions for effective and sustainable collaboration across borders. Because in a global organization, success is not only about processes and technology. It is also about understanding different perspectives, embracing diversity, and building meaningful connections between people.
As Annabelle Eggerling, IT Line HR Manager for Equans, highlights:
"Through a progressive approach combining workshops, conferences, and digital learning, we are creating the conditions for trusted and sustainable collaboration across our global IT organization."
Ultimately, the success of international collaboration is not defined solely by technology, processes, or organizational structures. It is built through openness, curiosity, and a shared willingness to learn from one another. By investing in intercultural understanding today, Equans is helping create stronger connections between teams and laying the foundations for a truly global way of working.
